Step One: Consultation
You will meet with an audiologist who will conduct the following:
Interview to discuss your hearing
Review situations where you may experience hearing difficulties
Examination of each ear
Complete hearing evaluation
Step Two: Recommendation
Following the consultation, the audiologist will provide you with recommendations. Their suggestions will take the following into account:
Your hearing evaluation results
Your lifestyle
Your hearing aid style and technology preference
Step Three: Hearing Aid Order
If you decide to proceed with hearing aids:
Impressions of your ears will be taken
A fitting appointment will be scheduled within two weeks of the hearing aid order
Step Four: Hearing Aid Fitting
At your hearing aid fitting, the audiologist or hearing instrument practitioner will go through the following:
Check overall comfort and cosmetics of the hearing aids
Set the hearing aids to a comfortable volume and verify sound quality
Instruct you on use and care of your hearing aids
Discuss a hearing aid use schedule to get you started
A hearing aid fitting follow-up appointment with the audiologist will be booked at this time.
Step Five: Follow-up Appointment
You will have the opportunity to discuss the following with the audiologist:
Your experience with the hearing aids in different listening situations
Whether your objectives with the hearing aids have been met
The audiologist will fine tune the hearing aids to improve your hearing aid experience, if required
The audiologist will provide education and counseling, if required
Future service will be provided as required to ensure the hearing aids continue to meet your goals and objectives
